Map evidence to a requirement
Create a simple table with one requirement, the document that addresses it, the date range it covers and anything still missing. Identity, relationship, finance and sponsorship evidence answer different questions. A large bundle is not necessarily a strong bundle: the decision-maker needs relevant, readable evidence that supports the application you are actually making.
Check dates, names and formats
Compare names, dates of birth and passport details across the form and supporting evidence. Explain name changes with a documentary link. Financial records must cover the correct period and meet the rules for the particular evidence category; a current balance alone may be insufficient. Check the official translation requirements for documents not in English or Welsh and retain both the source document and translation.
Keep a submission record
Use clear filenames and save the final submitted form, uploaded documents, payment receipt and application reference. Do not alter original documents to hide a discrepancy; identify the issue and seek advice on explaining it honestly. Do not send passports, bank statements or full medical records through an initial WhatsApp enquiry. First establish who is handling your matter and which secure document channel will be used.
Turn information into a practical next step
Write down the point you need to resolve, the route you are considering and any date that affects your next action. Keep this summary separate from your full document file. A short initial enquiry can establish what support is appropriate before you share more detailed records.
For individual circumstances, confirm the scope and any fee before relying on professional advice. Prepare a consultation enquiry or browse the related routes below.
